It was great

Ok, so I've listened to a few of your songs, and I've liked every one of them. I mean, you have talent, you have sick ass ideas and heavy, heavy riffs. In metal, that's what it's all about, right? It's awesome that these sound this good when you say your equipment isn't all that great.

The only thing missing is... I dunno how to say it. Dedication isn't the right word at all. Maybe... consistency... Regardless, all I'm saying is that I want to hear more of your music, but you don't release a lot of it. I'd love to see you pound out like 2,3,4,5 tracks sometime soon haha.

Im with ya on that bro....I really want to start gettin more out. I feel like people are forgetting me cause it takes me so damn long.lol Im glad you dig my music and thanx for the props.Gonna seriously try to get more recorded and out there for ya to check out soon. Keep it METAL and thanx for the review!!!

Again...

Bit of a change of pace from the work of yours that I'm used to listening to, but it's great. It's so fucking dynamic, you'd have to be an idiot to deny the mastery behind this piece. I loved how you just kept changing it up, always keeping the pace different; and that's what gripped me, that's what made me appreciate this. It's not exactly my style or taste (well, it is when I'm drinking and partying it up!), but who the hell am I to deny musical genius when it's staring me in the face?

I'm glad I'm taking the time to listen to your music. There's just some stuff you can't get from mainstream music. It's not really something anyone can put their finger on, but some music just loses that certain something when the artist makes it big. You're an excellent artist, don't let ANYTHING get in the way of you and your music. That would be a huge disappointment to any and all of your fans I'm sure.

WritersBlock responds:

Hey, wow. Thanks for the encouragement and support. I'm so glad to hear when my music is being appreciated like this. As always, I try to refine and improve on my music all the time, vary things up now and again, I'll try not to disappoint you in the future. ;D

Excellent

My God, I loved this song. I haven't listened to all (or many for that matter) of your songs, but for all the ones I've listened to, I've really come to love them. You have an amazing style. You know how to lure a listener in and reward them with what they want to hear, beautiful music. I can honestly say I didn't find anything wrong with this piece. Even though it did sound like a buildup to something explosive, the song by no means disappointed me. I loved every second of it, and it's just another of your songs I'll be downloading and putting on to my Ipod :) Can you tell me which of your songs is your 100th submission? I'd really like to give that a listen and review :)

Keep making music, there's not a reason in the world for you to stop doing what you do best.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks, man. It's always a big morale booster to hear support like this. My 100th submission is called "Factory". I love that you're putting the time and effort into listening to my music. Again, thank you.

You asked for it!

Good job here man. I got your PM! I like this track, it's really good stuff. I dunno if this is on the RRC request sheet yet, but since you asked for my review here it is.

Much the same review as I gave your sample here, except without the limit on score for it being a sample. It was the right vocals to use for your song here. Biggie's "Juicy" is fuckin' legendary! It was a good job you did on seperating his voice from the "Juicy" music track. My only question is, how?

I only have one criticism here my man. Aside from getting Biggie's voice on here, there wasn't too much that was unique about this. Like I said earlier, I love the piano and everything, but it's the same few notes throughout the entire song. That's the only reason I didn't give this a ten.

Overall, excellent track. You can PM me if you make more tracks, and I'll gladly slide you a review. In the meantime, you should review my flash! :P

AfroShine responds:

I got an instrumental of the song and inversed it over the normal track. So that only left me with his voice. Thanks for the criticism, it's important to furthering my abilities.

By the way, I've been having problems with my keyboard lately, so I wasn't able to make a second piano loop as planned. I figured I'd just finish this and get it out there, so I might update it when I get this problem fixed. I'm probably gunna call tech support this weekend.

Yeah

I haven't really got too much to say about this unfortunately. I enjoyed it, but I felt as if it did tend to get repetitive by song's end. I admire your bass skills. Now all you have to focus on is implementing those skills into even more music! Keep this up, and you'll have a really large fanbase :)

Thanks for the review PicosGhost. I think the general consensus is that the bass sounds pretty heavy, but I need to make a song with it instead of out of it.

Thanks again, and I will be keeping this up. I just needed plenty of advice first ;)

Fun stuff

What a fun start. This song was really good. The guitar just sounded so awesome, I really got into it. Especially at 0:42, the buildup was great. This song really had it all, and I only have one complaint. It ended so abruptly, that was definitely the only bad part about this song. Congratulations on a great song, I encourage you to keep up the work and don't get out of music for a really long time :)

CyriltheWolf responds:

It has an abrupt end? Wow. That's the first I've ever had that said about this song! hahaha. Wow. Well regardless, I'm glad you liked it!

Good stuff man

After hearing your Dad n' Me submission, I deemed it neccessary to tackle some more of your music. I'm not the least bit disappointed here. Even in short bursts you have the ability to amaze huh? This song had it all man. Well almost all of it. But more on that in a second. It started off as a bad ass little riff, which is by no means bad, and then it progressed to something more. That's an amazing talent. It went from slow, to medium, then fast. I don't know how you accomplished all of this in a minute and three but all I can say is congratulations man. You've got some skill, don't let it go to waste! I just hope I can find one song of yours to put into a flash of mine, that would be awesome.

And now... why the 9? I'm sure you have it figured out by now right? Just because it was short, I couldn't give it a 10. Don't hate me :P

And there you have it, another long review haha.

DarKsidE555 responds:

Indeed, that would be cool as well and don't worry, I won't let waste. Infact I'm going to expand it even further and beyond. lol. ;)

Naa, glad you liked the tune man. Always nice to read when people enjoy my stuff. Thanks as well for another "long" review. :)

Excellent

I really liked it man. From the chainsaws to the laughing to the wonderfully played guitar. I saw nothing wrong with this song except that it had to end at some point! I can imagine so many things happening to this song, it's crazy. Imagination truly takes over when listening to this song and thinking about what could be happening. I'd love to put it in a flash of mine, but I'm not too sure it would fit into something sprite-related! Haha. Maybe it could have fit into the fight scene in my movie, but now we'll never know! I'm hoping I get the chance to use this one day. Once again, well done... expertly done at that. 1:50 and forward was my favorite part. Congrats on your FS! (Full Score)

DarKsidE555 responds:

A bigger review for a change! Noic!

Thanks for the praise man, glad you enjoyed the song! Yeah, everything has to end sooner or later as well as this song. Good thing you can loop it with the NG player. ;)

Good thing you can get a lot out of this one, there's a description as well which explains the song out of my personal view. Yeah, go on, just use it for something, that's why the song is here after all!

Anyways, thanks for the cool review dude!

Another hit!

This was good stuff mi amigo. I'm agreeing with the statement that this song does not need lyrics. Although I am a bit curious to see how it would sound.

I really liked the guitar... how did you learn to play guitar anyway? I'm just starting learning myself, but all I'm using are online lessons and stuff like that. I've only been at it since christmas time :P I'd like to know how to get better.

Anyway! I decided not to deduct for the computer generated instruments this time around. I think I was a bit unfair. These compositions undoubtedly take massive amounts of skill, and it really shows.

BTW, thanks for that welcome! haha.

Keep it up man, there's loads of skill to be used.

Xth responds:

About guitar playing: After, about 10 years of guitar playing, I can tell you this, it's all about practicing, no matter if you're alone or with a teacher. I started alone and I did for couple of years some lessons only to learn music theory (to understand actually what i'm playing). Right now I'm taking too some online lessons to improve my soloing.

About the song: This one is actually an old song on mine, which I re-recorded. I wrote it as an instrumental. Lyrics sound interesting but then I'll have to change everything. Also for me it has a certain meaning as it is.

Thanks for the review and for listening.

3 reviews? Damn.

Being a recent addition to the fan base of rock... maybe 3 years since i started listening to it, this song was great.

Don't be too steamed at me, it's not a ten because you had the computer do 2 instruments. It's not always a bad idea, but I'm usually not for the idea of "manufactured" sounds in rock.

I liked the middle of the song, the buildup, if you will. At 4:34/4:35, the guitar, to me, sounded exactly like a part of the riff from "Enter Sandman", which I'm sure you've heard of!

So, now you know why i gave you a 9. Not quite a FS (Full Score), but very damn close. If there was a 9.5, you would have it :) Great work, consider me a fan! 9/10 5/5

Xth responds:

LOL! Welcome to the Circle Of Rockers! (Choirs, hellfires rising etc) I know, i'm not a fan of computer generated instruments either, but I don't have space, time, resources, equipment, etc for drum playing and I can't play the piano-keyboards, so this is a necessary evil. At least I "write" these instruments on midi, instead of using samples, unless otherwise mentioned. Anyway thanks for the review and the score, check my other stuff too!
